– We cannot and will not accept the return of any scout until their parent/guardian has completed this online form to confirm they accept the plan below and are comfortable with their child returning to scouts.
– There are lots of valid reasons to decline to accept our plan. If you don’t want to sign up to the plan, still complete the form (checking the box to say your child can’t return under the current plan) and give us some feedback. We won’t be offended and there may be an adjustment we can make to accommodate you better.
– Our sessions will be shorter to ensure no crossover with sections where we may be using the same location. Updated 26th October: Our sessions may also be shorter when indoors to allow mandatory cleaning before/after sessions. Please pay attention to the programme for your section.
– Don’t offer lifts or car shares
– At pick up time, stay with your car as far as possible. We will bring the beavers/cubs/scouts to you! Pop your head out by all means, but don’t get out and start up a chat with all the other parents. Updated 26th October: When meeting in the hall please do not congregate inside the entrance. Maintain social distancing outside the hall and please do not block the door.
– We will be exclusively outdoors for the time being, so sanitisation of a building won’t be a problem. Updated 26th October: There will now be a mix of indoor and outdoor meetings depending on section. Sanitisation of the building will be done in line with the requirements of Barton Village Institute.
– We will have a stock of hand sanitiser which will be available at all times and liberally applied!
– DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND A CHILD TO A SCOUTING ACTIVITY IF THEY ARE SUFFERING FROM COVID SYMPTOMS OR YOU ARE SELF ISOLATING DUE TO POSSIBLE COVID EXPOSURE OR TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS.
– Plans can change at very short notice. We will endeavour to let you know about changes as soon as is reasonably possible, but keep on top of your text messages, emails and the Barton Scouts website to make sure you have the most up to date information.
