Here’s the information you have been waiting for! It’s time for Winter Camp 2023.

We’re going somewhere different this time. Thornthwaite is lovely but having an adventure in a new location is exciting. Here are the important details you’ll want to know:

When: 7pm Friday 3rd March 2023 to 1pm Sunday 5th March 2023

Where: Watson Scout Centre, Carlton in Cleveland. We’re staying indoors. https://www.watsonscoutcentre.org.uk/watson-scout-centre-location.php

Who: The camp is open to all Scouts and Explorers

How Much: £45 per person to be paid via an online link we will send you once you have completed the booking form.

Closing date: The closing date for bookings will be Friday 24th February, however there is a capacity limit on the building so we may need to close bookings early. Don’t hang about until the last minute to book.

What: This will be a familiar winter camp format for those who have winter camped with us before. We’ll play games in the dark and games indoors, but the main event will be the Saturday where we head into the hills to explore parts of the Cleveland Way. A kit list and joining instructions will follow once you have booked, but be aware that the activity on the Saturday will require everyone to have waterproof hiking boots, a waterproof coat and trousers and an appropriately sized (small) rucksack with space for lunch, a water bottle and waterproofs in case these don’t need to be worn. For the safety of the rest of the group we can’t let anyone take part if they are not properly equipped. We’ll do a kit inspection on the Friday evening and if anyone does not have the right gear and cannot get it delivered to site by Saturday morning, they will be sent home and no refund will be offered. We have a limited stock of spare boots, fleeces and waterproofs if you want to take a look at them to fill any gaps in your gear.
