Hello there summer campers. It’s a mere 11 days until camp and I bet you’re eager to pack. Assuming you are you will find the kit list below.
It’s totally fine for parents to help scouts to pack but the scouts should be heavily involved so they know what is packed in their bags and what those things are to be used for.
The important timings that are missing from your invitation letter and form are:
- Camp starts at 12:00 (midday) on Wednesday 30th August – bring your lunch
- Camp ends at 12:00 (midday) on Sunday 3rd September – then go out for lunch
The location for the camp is Seeonee Lair Campsite and Activity Centre in Kettleness near Whitby. There is excellent location information on this page of their website: http://www.kettleness.org.uk/location – but for those who don’t want to go digging, the postcode they suggest is YO21 3RY.
Please bear in mind that this is a rural postcode and accuracy will be limited. It will be a first visit to this site for many of our leaders and mobile phone coverage is unknown, so please prepare your navigation before you set out.
