Seems like a good time to promote this post from last year.

Around this time of year we get quite a few emails asking about the Barton under Needwood firework display.  It’s a huge annual event which attracts people from all around the Burton upon Trent area and tickets are on sale in advance.  But there’s one thing you should know about the display…

…we’re probably not the Barton you’re looking for.

We’re up in North Yorkshire, and while we do run an occasional firework display for our members and their families, we don’t run a large public display 145 miles away.  I suppose we’re just lucky that we’re high in the Google rankings when you search for Barton Scouts, but I do spend a bit of time each October redirecting people.

This year I hoped to publish contact details for the correct group, but their website (www.bartonscouts.org.uk) does not seem to be up at the moment.  Perhaps you may get their details from their district website: Burton District Scouts .

Given the level of interest in the Barton Under Needwood display I should consider making the 290 mile round trip to catch the fireworks.

Happy bonfire night folks.
